Instructions need review, didn't test with other IM services to confirm the names of the textboxes. Also, check the name of the Add button.

Choose ChatAdd Contact

From the Account drop-down list, select the type of service the person you want to add to your contacts is using.

In the Identifier text box, type the email address or the username of the person you want to add to your contacts list.

In the Alias text box, type their name.

Click Add to add the person to your list of contacts.

You can view your list of contacts in the main window of Empathy.

To add a new person to your list of contacts, you need to be connected to the Internet and to your account.
